The Oklahoma Society for Range Management has four awards it gives annually:

  1. Trail Boss
  2. Excellence in Rangeland Management
  3. Two Outstanding Service awards

Trail Boss Award: To recognize SRM members for dedicated services in the field of rangeland management to promote sound resource utilization. The Trail Boss award is for a section member who's efforts have contributed greatly to the OKSRM and rangeland management in the state. This could be in many different ways - research, extension, consulting, etc. or any combination of these activities.

Excellence in Rangeland Management: To recognize rangeland resource managers with demonstrated above-average skill and knowledge in sound grazing management. Excellence in Rangeland Management is for section or non-section members, organizations, groups, etc. that have done an outstanding job managing their rangeland resources. Ranchers are often recipients of this award but several organizations have received this award in the past.

Oklahoma Section Society for Range Management Outstanding Service Award (up to two): For outstanding contribution to the art and science of rangeland management. The two Outstanding Service awards are for recognizing individuals that have supported OKSRM or rangeland management. One or both of these awards can be given to members or non-members. They are designed as sort of a formal "thank you" to individuals that have provided a valuable service.
